Thirty years of MMA trading cards join the API-first platform where builders launch trading card apps in a weekend, not months.
PORTLAND, ME, UNITED STATES, September 11, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — CardSight AI, Inc., the trading card infrastructure platform, today announced full support for mixed martial arts (MMA) trading cards. Identification, catalog, and market data are now live for more than 250 MMA trading card releases spanning 30 years, from MMA trading card releases of the 1990s through today’s UFC-licensed products from popular publishers such as Topps and Panini.
The same release adds more than 1,500 additional sets across sports and trading card games, bringing the total number of sets CardSight AI can identify to more than 8,250. Every one of them is available through the same integration, with no new endpoints to learn and no separate agreements to sign.
No uniforms, no shortcuts
MMA trading cards are a demanding test for any identification system. Team sports give an AI identification system plenty to work with: uniforms, team colors, logos, and the arena behind the player. MMA trading cards offer almost none of that. Fighters are photographed in similar gear against similar backdrops, the same fighter appears across promotions and decades, and a single release can carry dozens of parallels, serial-numbered variations, autographs, and relics that differ only in subtle ways.
CardSight AI handles MMA trading cards the way it handles every other segment. It accepts an ordinary photo, taken at an angle, with several trading cards in the frame, and returns the specific card and parallel in under 300 milliseconds per card at 99.5% accuracy. Graded slabs from PSA, BGS, SGC, CGC, and TAG are identified with the grade extracted. Most alternatives still ask a person to line up one card at a time inside a box on the screen, the way a mobile banking app asks you to line up a check. CardSight AI meets collectors at the collection table. The same identification runs on live video, so a break or live-selling stream can surface the MMA trading card on camera the moment it is pulled.
Every identified MMA trading card resolves to an entry in the CardSight AI Catalog, and market data for MMA trading cards is published as transparent bid and ask information tied to specific sales. CardSight AI does not calculate a comp or publish a single price. Data, not opinions.
More than 8,250 sets, one integration
With this release, the CardSight AI Catalog trading card database spans baseball, football, basketball, hockey, and MMA on the sports side, and Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, and One Piece on the trading card game side, with more than 13 million cards organized by segment, manufacturer, release, set, card, and parallel. Printed language detection covers eight languages for trading card games.
The 1,500 sets added alongside MMA extend coverage across vintage and modern sports releases as well as recent trading card game expansions. A team adding Pokemon identification to an app, querying a trading card database, or wiring up a sports card API reaches all of it through one REST API.
New releases continue to ship in days. CardSight AI supported Pokémon Pitch Black and 2026 Topps Flagship Football within days of their release, and MMA follows the same cadence. As new MMA trading card products reach shelves, they become identifiable without any change on the builder’s side.
API-first from day one
Across the hobby, companies that began as consumer apps are now working to offer an API or to reposition their products for AI platforms. CardSight AI was built as an API-first platform for trading cards from the beginning. Every capability on the platform exists to be integrated.
CardSight AI does not screen what customers are building and does not ask anyone to apply for access. A developer creates an account, gets an API key, and starts identifying trading cards on a free tier that requires no credit card. SDKs for Node.js, Python, Swift, Java, and .NET, plus trading card MCP endpoints for AI agents and LLM integrations, mean the platform works the same whether the builder is a person or an AI coding assistant. Those MCP endpoints already work with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code and Codex, so a developer can describe the trading card feature they want and let the assistant wire it to CardSight AI directly.
That openness is showing up in the numbers. Over the past quarter, thousands of users have turned to CardSight AI to take a trading card app or website from idea to deployment in a single weekend rather than months, with the identification, trading card database, and market data foundations already in place.
“Nobody should have to apply for permission to build a trading card app. Sign up, grab an API key, and ship,” said Eric Nusbaum, Co-Founder and CEO of CardSight AI. “CardSight AI was built as an API from day one, not as an app that grew one later, and that shapes everything about how we work with developers. We do not screen what you are building, we do not compete with the people who build on us, and every customer gets the same platform. Adding 30 years of MMA trading cards on top of more than 8,250 supported sets is what that looks like in practice.”
