Ramps Logistics Ltd. successfully executed the transportation of critical compressor equipment for Touchstone Exploration Trinidad Limited’s Cascadura Project, marking a major operational milestone in the advancement of one of Trinidad and Tobago’s most significant recent onshore gas developments.
Transported from Houston to Trinidad for delivery to the Cascadura Site in Poole, Rio Claro, the equipment forms part of the next phase of the field’s development and is expected to support increased domestic gas production, reduced wellhead pressure, and improved operating stability.
The shipment involved oversized units of considerable scale, including the heaviest piece at more than 57 tons, equipment measuring over 50 feet in length and more than 15 feet in height, and widths that required specialist transport arrangements, detailed engineering, and route control.
Located within the Ortoire block, the Cascadura field represents an important component of Trinidad and Tobago’s onshore energy activity. The arrival of this equipment reflects continued investment in infrastructure supporting production, field performance, and momentum within the national energy sector.
The Honourable Dr. Roodal Moonilal, MP, Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, visited the Port of Point Lisas where cargo was offloaded before transportation to the Cascadura field on Friday, April 24, 2026.
The Minister was joined by Deoraj Mahase, Acting President of PLIPDECO; Yuri Jardine, Managing Director of UAL Trinidad; Brian Hollingshead, Executive Vice President; Dr. Priya Marajh, Board Director; and Xavier Moonan, Exploration Manager of Touchstone Exploration Trinidad Limited. Also present were Dale Lutchman, VP Sales and Marketing, and Gagendra Ramkissoon, VP Projects and Safety, of Ramps Logistics.
Commenting on the operation, Shaun Rampersad, CEO of Ramps Logistics Ltd., said: “This is a major step forward for the Cascadura Project and a visible sign of continued investment in Rio Claro and South East Trinidad. It reflects the scale of execution required to move critical energy development forward in Trinidad and Tobago.”
The operation required planning across every phase, including cargo collection in Houston, ocean freight to Trinidad, port offloading, trailer transfer, route surveys, lift planning, police coordination, and final delivery. The scale and complexity called for disciplined coordination and close alignment among all parties, led by the Ramps Logistics projects team.
Ramps Logistics extends special thanks to PLIPDECO for its facilitation and accommodation, and to UAL Trinidad for ensuring safe transit and disciplined execution of the safety plan.
