A medical review that once took Holland Injury Law’s attorneys a couple of hours now takes about 15 minutes. The St. Louis trial firm credits EvenUp’s AI platform, and says the gains extend to the negotiating table: higher initial offers from insurers.
EvenUp is the first proactive AI platform for personal injury firms, organizing medical records, drafting demand letters, and flagging issues across a case. It serves thousands of firms, including 30% of the top 100 PI firms in the United States.
“With EvenUp, we’re getting initial offers that are healthier and higher,” said Alyson Dunavant, attorney at Holland Injury Law. Before, the 17-employee Missouri firm’s cases often required multiple negotiation rounds or a lawsuit.
The change starts with the demand letter. Complex demands once took 20 to 30 hours of page-by-page review, billing analysis, and manual coding. EvenUp now delivers a draft in about 30 minutes, with injury details, records, and billing data structured. Attorneys still review and finalize every demand, and they have more time to strengthen smaller cases.
The platform builds a visual medical chronology, flags treatment gaps, and alerts the team to missing records and mismatched bills before they can stall a settlement.
It has changed how attorneys work live. During one deposition, a dispute arose over whether a plaintiff had reported hitting her head in a crash. Rather than searching records, the attorney had the answer in seconds.
“With EvenUp, I can familiarize myself with years of medical treatment in 15 minutes if I need to,” said John Moffitt, partner at Holland Injury Law.
The firm says the saved time goes toward trial preparation, motions, and client conversations, not a bigger caseload. It has begun using EvenUp’s AI communication agents to place opening claim calls to adjusters while attorneys work.
“Technology like EvenUp makes great firms even better,” said founder William King Holland.
